The company was created in an almost karmic way.

My amazing Nan - Gladys Byrne - died surrounded by her family at the age of 89. She had made me, Cassidy Janson, promise to sing at her funeral many moons before and somehow I manage to perform the duet, The Prayer with my good friend Stephen Carlile at her service.

After the funeral I was approached by the funeral directors - and I must add, in the most courteous manner! - and they asked if I would consider singing at other people's funerals. It was not something I'd ever really considered doing before, but I said yes and we swapped details.

But it got me thinking. How often people must want songs performed at funerals but either may not know any professional singers to sing for them or would simply be too emotional to sing themselves.

So Chimes came about as a way of providing a service for the recently bereaved who simply want their or the recently deceased's song or songs of choice sung beautifully, with emotion and clarity.
